A busy, albeit drizzly 4th of July weekend saw 6 of the 8 scheduled ski shows by the Lake Saint Louis Ski Club taking place. The bigger than ever Home Shows were held on July 2 and July 4 at Jefferson Point on our home lake. Large crowds came out and cheered on our home team despite less than ideal conditions. The tents that sprinkled the Jefferson Point beachfront did not perform their usual “block the sun” duties, but instead were the best way to keep people dry.
Skiers and Boat Drivers, along with Dock Moms, Act Coaches, and Land/Dock/Costume coordinators, ensured a wonderful experience for everyone, young and old.
A special thank you goes to the Lake Saint Louis Ambassadors, who came out both days and helped sell food, so that our ski club participants and parents could focus on the show and not miss it due to volunteer duties. The Food Trucks from Sugarfire and Kona Ice added another level of awesomeness to the events, and provided revenues back to the club as well.
The Club was also contracted to perform 6 short (30-45 minute) shows on July 2-4 as part of the Fair St. Louis celebration. Despite Sunday’s shows being canceled by Mayor Slay due to weather concerns, the other four shows provided a great deal of visibility, with the cameras providing the feed to the big screen on entertainment stages. Timmy Hydro Knoerzer and Jeff Buehrle did a great job announcing the show for the fans. Photos appeared in STL Today, the St. Louis Post, and in our very own local Newstime papers (print and online version).
Great job everyone!
