Kneeboard
Description:
This is a beginner act for children 5 years and over. This is the act with which many of our future skiers began their careers with. Kneeboarders learn to start in groups of 4-6 kids and take off from the beach. Parents, older (teenage) siblings, or other guardians are needed to hold onto the board to provide balance and stability (and maybe some kind or bribing words!) to the young person as the boat pulls the ropes tight and away. As the skills of forward boarding are mastered, some kids begin taking off backward from the beach as well.
Skills Needed:
Ability to follow directions and to be beyond a fear of falling into the lake.
Equipment Needed:
Each child needs their own kneeboard (sharing is not recommended due to the pace of the Home Show). The straps are not used during kneeboard for safety reasons and can be removed if desired. Each kneeboarder needs their own Coast Guard approved life jacket, preferably with a zipper and three buckles.
